BridesDecide.com exists to give users of The Knot, The Nest, and WeddingChannel.com a forum to learn about and discuss the 2008 presidential election. We respect the rights of both our users and the candidates to make their voices heard. This policy describes the standards that we intend to apply to editorial, user-generated, and advertising content appearing on the site.

Content on the site that is created, or linked to, by Bridesdecide.com reflects the views of our editors. Because this site is all about letting our brides decide, we don't intend to be partisan, to favor or candidate or political party over others. But because our content will be guided by what we think our users will find most useful or interesting, you shouldn't expect that every article or every link will achieve, or even attempt to achieve, any sort of balance between different candidates, different parties, or different positions. Moreover, mention of a particular candidate or party does not necessarily reflect an endorsement by the editors, and omission of a particular candidate or party should not imply any lack of endorsement.

The forums accessible on BridesDecide.com, from The Knot and WeddingChannel.com, include content generated by both our staff and users. Our editors can control staff members' contributions, but we can not and do not edit or ensure the accuracy and veracity of the content generated by users, many of whom use anonymous screen names and with whom we have no official relationship. Any information generated by a fellow user reflects the viewpoint of that user and not BridesDecide.com. However, the forums are subject to our terms of use. Among other things, the forums may not include any libelous, defamatory, fraudulent, or illegal language.

Like many of the sites under The Knot umbrella, BridesDecide.com accepts advertising to generate revenue. On this site, advertisers may include candidates, political parties, political committees, and other organizations. Our general policy is one of non-discrimination. That is, we will generally accept advertisements from any source, regardless of subject matter and whether that subject matter may be contradictory to any viewpoint expressed or held by the editors of BridesDecide.com or our users on the site. We do maintain the right to reject advertising at our sole discretion, for reasons that range from an advertisement's appearance being inconsistent with the look and feel of the site to an advertisement's content being libelous, defamatory, fraudulent, or illegal.

We believe this policy strengthens our commitment to making all of the content on BridesDecide.com, whether editorial, user-generated, or advertising, serve the purpose of giving brides a place to give and get a wide range of information and opinions about such an important topic.
